Note 1: A match was scheduled to take place on 040/07/1885 at Queen's Park, Botanical Gardens, as reported in Qld Figaro and Punch 04/07/1885. The teams to play were not recorded and there is no subsequent of a match being played on his date.
Note 2: The draw for the first round cup match appears to have been a random draw. No contemporary source explains the process for the draw.
Note 3: The first replay on 22/08/1885 was abandoned 15 minutes from time. With the score 1-1, St Andrew's scored a goal. Rangers appealed claiming the ball rebounded off a spectator in the lead-up play, and the referee agreed and changed his decision. In response, the St Andrew's team walked off the field, and the match was abandoned.
Note 4: No contemporaneous report exists for the second replay of the final, but an account was included in the report of the following season's final (Brisbane Courier 30/08/1886).
The AQFA set this match for 19/09/1885. Rangers did not turn up at the appointed venue. St Andrew's kicked off without their opponents, scored a goal and were declared winners of the cup and badges for 1885.
