Note 2: The Round 4 fixture Ipswich Rovers vs. Norman was almost certainly forfeited by Norman. This is because there was no contemporary match report. In addition, Ipswich Rovers recorded having scored 19 goals in the 1897 Challenge Cup at their AGM (Qld Times 15/03/1898).

Note 3: After Dinmore Bush Rats withdrew, the future fixtures were revised. Therefore, their First-Round matches against Rosebank and Norman were not scheduled with the latter two teams receiving two points for a win by forfeit.
