League competitions in the Brisbane-Ipswich region were administered by the Ipswich and West Moreton British FA in 1902, and included one Brisbane team (Eskgrove).
The Brisbane Challenge Cup was open to senior and junior teams, and conducted as a knock-out tournament (instead of a league format) due to its late start.
In 1902, there were no senior teams in Brisbane, and only three senior teams in Ipswich: Dinmore Bush Rats, Bundamba Rangers and Ipswich Royals.
