Final season tables -- Brisbane and District Soccer Football Association 1929
First-grade teams are listed in bold.
A final series (known as the 'Grand Premiership Cup') was to be held this season to determine the premier team in Division 1, however the three Ipswich teams withdrew from the series over a dispute about the distribution of gate receipts.
The Ipswich clubs were suspended and fined by the BDFA, however the QFA upheld an appeal against this decision, after which the Brisbane and Ipswich clubs were not reconciled.
The BDFA was would up in July 1930, but prior to this administration responsibility for senior football had been taken over by separate new limited companies in Brisbane and Ipswich set up in February 1930.

Note: Under the BDFA constitution, Division 1 had to consist of at least four Brisbane based clubs. Therefore, Thistle would not have been relegated to Division 2, had the Brisbane and Ipswich clubs remained unified under the BDFA in 1930.
Semi-Finals: Latrobe vs. St Helens; Bundamba Rangers vs. Dinmore Bush Rats. The three Ipswich teams withdrew leaving Latrobe to be declared premiers.

Note 1: In Round 1, Rosebells was to play Ipswich Railways and Bulimba Rangers had the bye. Ipswich Railways withdrew prior to the game. The Rosebells vs. Bulimba Rangers fixture was not played.
Note 2: Under the BDFA constitution, Division 1 had to consist of at least four Brisbane based clubs. Therefore, Rosebells would not have been promoted to Division 1, had the Brisbane and Ipswich clubs remained unified under the BDFA in 1930.
Note 3: Newtown United (previously Merton Rovers) played at Yeronga Memorial Park. The club was not admitted to senior Brisbane competition in 1930 and continued in the junior ranks in 1930, then disbanded. Reformed as Merton Rovers in 1934.
