The ASF was renamed Soccer Australia in 1995.

Note 1: Newcastle Breakers withdrew prior to the season commencing, but returned to the league in 1995-96. Canberra Cosmos joined the NSL in 1995-96.

Note 2: Melbourne SC was relegated after this season and reverted to the name Brunswick Juventus. The club was split into three groups, each of which was involved in a complicated series of mergers and de-mergers with other clubs.

Note 3: After this season, Sydney Olympic went into a partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and was renamed UTS Olympic.
